This Sunday is the last Sunday of the liturgical church year, Christ the King Sunday -- which is the feast day of our church, CHRIST the KING Lutheran Church!
There is much with which our church is dealing with. Members of our church are fighting cancer and other diseases, some are mourning the loss of family, and we are all dealing with the continued pandemic and many issues that make us anxious.
That said, Christ the King Sunday reminds us who is the "king," Jesus Christ, Lord of All.
We are pausing in-person worship as Placer County has moved into the "purple/widespread spread" and indoor gatherings for worship are limited.
You will continue to find us streaming online at 9:00 a.m. (typically beginning the stream by 8:55) for worship. Please bring your communion elements to the livestream with you, and you may consider lighting a candle and placing it next to your laptop, TV, or phone as we worship together.
Beginning next week with the new liturgical church year and the First Sunday of Advent, Ken and Gena will offer live music during the stream on YouTube!
We are still working on what Christmas Eve service(s) will look like. Each week please look for an update like this with links to the livestream and the weekly order of worship bulletin attached.
**Livestream for Sunday, November 22 (Bulletin attached below):
Links for all livestreams (past recordings and future links) are at our @home page on the website: ctktahoe.net/athome
Please continue to let me know your needs and prayer requests. We've been getting through these challenging times, and will continue to do so...because Christ is our KING!
Please join me in prayer for Christ the King Sunday:
Almighty and merciful God,you break the power of evil and make all things newin your Son Jesus Christ, the King of the universe.May all in heaven and earthacclaim your glory and never cease to praise you.We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Peace, friends,
Pr. Ed+
