Welcome & Greeting
Call to Worship
Where is this Jesus, the one you call Messiah?
Christ is Risen! Christ is here among us!
I do not see him. I don’t believe you.
(louder) Christ is Risen! Christ is here among us!
Let me see his body, his hands and his feet.
We are Christ’s body; We are Christ’s feet.
You see the suffering in the world? Where is Jesus now?
We are going into the world to be the body of Christ.
Let us go together, let us partner with others.
For we are the body of Christ: let us share the Good News!
Opening Song
Thanksgiving for Baptism
All may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins.
Alleluia! Christ is risen.
Christ is risen indeed. Alleluia!
Joined to Christ in the waters of baptism,
we are raised with him to new life.
Let us give thanks for the gift of baptism.
Water may be poured into the font as the presiding minister gives thanks.
We give you thanks, O God,
for in the beginning you created us in your image
and planted us in a well-watered garden.
In the desert you promised pools of water for the parched,
and you gave us water from the rock.
When we did not know the way,
you sent the Good Shepherd to lead us to still waters.
At the cross, you watered us from Jesus’ wounded side,
and on this day, you shower us again with the water of life.
We praise you for your salvation through water,
for the water in this font,
and for all water everywhere.
Bathe us in your forgiveness, grace, and love.
Satisfy the thirsty, and give us the life only you can give.
To you be given honor and praise
through Jesus Christ our Lord
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
Amen.
Kyrie
In peace let us pray to the Lord.
Lord have mercy.
For the peace from above and for our salvation let us pray to the Lord.
Lord have mercy.
For the peace of the whole world, for the well-being of the church of God, and for the unity of all let us pray to the Lord.
Lord have mercy.
For this holy house and for all who offer here their worship and praise let us pray to the Lord.
Lord have mercy.
Help, save, comfort and defend us gracious Lord.
Amen.
Canticle of Praise
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace to his people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King,
almighty God and Father,
we worship you, we give you thanks,
we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world:
have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father:
receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Psalm: Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24
God’s mercy en- | dures forever.
2Let Israel | now declare,
“God’s mercy en- | dures forever.”
14The Lord is my strength | and my song,
and has become | my salvation.
15Shouts of rejoicing and salvation echo in the tents | of the righteous:
“The right hand of the | Lord acts valiantly!
16The right hand of the Lord| is exalted!
The right hand of the | Lord acts valiantly!”
17I shall not | die, but live,
and declare the works | of the Lord. R
18The Lord indeed pun- | ished me sorely,
but did not hand me o- | ver to death.
19Open for me the | gates of righteousness;
I will enter them and give thanks | to the Lord.
20“This is the gate | of the Lord;
here the righ- | teous may enter.”
21I give thanks to you, for you have | answered me
and you have become | my salvation. R
22The stone that the build- | ers rejected
has become the chief | cornerstone.
23By the Lord has | this been done;
it is marvelous | in our eyes.
24This is the day that the | Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be | glad in it. R

Meditation/Homily
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offering &
Offering Prayer
Mary came but you were gone
Before the rising sun
You left your grave to wander
Death has no power over you
Death has no power over you.
Jesus said that he would rise
A lack of faith made our eyes
Blind to the truth
Where had they taken the body of our Jesus?
Jerusalem, your King did come,
You threw him out
A cross to bear,
You just didn’t care.
In the tomb an angel spoke
Gave to Mary hope
Words of Jesus rising,
“Go tell Peter, Simon Peter
Go tell Peter, Jesus lives!”
Jerusalem, your King did come
You threw him out
A cross to bear
You just didn’t care.
Oh Morning Star, my risen Lord
Death has no power over you
Oh Morning Star, my risen Lord
Death has no power over you
Mary came but you were gone
Before the rising sun
You left your grave to wander
Death has no power over you
Death has no power over you.
Although we won’t be able to pass the offering plate, CTK's expenses do not decrease. In fact, some church expenses have already or will soon increase as we assist in needs across Lake Tahoe and beyond. We understand the current situation not only impacts CTK's finances, but also yours.
We are hoping that if you are able, you will continue your regular weekly offering. Please visit our online giving page at https://ctktahoe.net/give
Regular and special offerings can also be mailed to: CHRIST the KING Church, PO Box 6449, Tahoe City, CA 96145
**During Holy Week from Palm Sunday to Easter, we will be raising $6,000 for local hunger needs around the lake. $3,000 will be pledged to the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe to support over a week of dinners for Incline, North Tahoe, and Truckee families in need. Another $3,000 has been set aside for the North Tahoe Ministerial Association to purchase grocery and gas cards for families in need. As the offerings from Good Friday and Easter Sunday Sunrise service typically support relief programs in our community, please consider assisting with this project!
Merciful God,
our ordinary gifts seem small for such a celebration,
but you make of them an abundance,
just as you do with our lives.
Prepare us for service in your name,
in the strength of the risen Christ.
Amen.
Closing Song
In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow’r of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.
Benediction, Doxology, & Sending
May the One who brought forth Jesus from the dead
raise you to new life, fill you with hope,
and turn your mourning into dancing.
Almighty God, Father, ☩ Son, and Holy Spirit,
bless you now and forever. Amen.
Christ is risen, just as he said.
Go in peace. Share the good news. Alleluia!
Thanks be to God. Alleluia!
